Walk Run Sizzle City Richards Bay Parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 0700 hours at the Zululand Multi-Sports Club in Meerensee, Richards Bay in Zululand.

It is not about how well you do but your participation in keeping healthy. Grandmothers, grandfathers and kids are getting out on the road to exercise, even the MEC of Health KwaZulu Natal, Dr Sibongiseni Dlomo and our President Cyril Ramaphosa are sweating it out on the roads and trails of South Africa.

The Parkrun in Richards Bay is a safe and community orientated weekly option.

Walk Run Sizzle City Richards Bay Parkrun – Where?

From the Zululand Multi-Sports Club in Sizzle City Richards Bay enjoy nature as the route initially heads west through coastal forest, by Dead Man’s canal, the water’s edge of the bay and Pelican Island over a berm wall.

The first Parkrun in Sizzle City Richards Bay was on 7 May 2016. The event was officially opened by Comrades Marathon favorite Bruce Fordyce and attended by the MEC Dr Sibongiseni Dlomo.

Walk Run Sizzle City Richards Bay Parkrun – Some Facts

  • Children under the age of eleven must be accompanied within arm’s length at all times by a parent, guardian or appropriate adult of the parent’s choice.
  • An average number of 230 people participate in this 5 kilometer timed event in an average time of 43 minutes.
  • After registering you can attend any Parkrun throughout the country and strive to achieve 50 to 100 run T-shirts.
  • Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at this event and the route is not pram friendly.
